IL ASTA AWARDS
Each year, IL ASTA members are recognized for their significant contributions to our profession. Since they are nominated by fellow IL ASTA colleagues, we need you to nominate deserving educators! Categories include: Outstanding School Teacher, Outstanding Studio Teacher, Outstanding Young Educator and Distinguished Service. Please remember – all nominees and nominators must be ASTA members.

OUTSTANDING CLASSROOM TEACHER
Awarded to a teacher in a school orchestra setting who has achieved and maintained excellence in their program or who has been extraordinarily successful in building a new program or revitalizing an existing one through the use of innovative teaching techniques, creative connections with the community, etc. Nominee must be an ASTA member.
OUTSTANDING STUDIO TEACHER
Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in the teaching of strings in a private studio, university, or other setting where teaching takes place one-on-one.
OUTSTANDING EMERGING TEACHER
Awarded to a teacher in a school orchestra setting who has achieved and maintained excellence in their program or who has been extraordinarily successful in building a new program or revitalizing an existing one through the use of innovative teaching techniques, creative connections with the community, etc. Nominee must be an ASTA member.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
Awarded to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the string teaching profession through leadership, performance, teaching, or service over an extended period of time.
