Andrew Ladendorf currently teaches at Glen Crest Middle School and the four elementary schools in District 89 in Glen Ellyn. He received his Bachelor’s of Music Education Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master’s Degree in Music-Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, and a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Concordia University Chicago. u003cbru003eu003cbru003eAndrew is a member of ASTA and ILMEA (NAfME), Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Delta Pi, Association of Middle Level Educators (AMLE), and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). He currently is an active participant in the Illinois string education community, formerly serving as the Audition Chair for the ILMEA All-State String Auditions, a judge for string auditions at the ILMEA District and All-State levels, organization contest judge for IGSMA, and also as a judge for local solo and ensemble contests. In 2019, his middle school Chamber Orchestra was chosen to perform at the Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC) and he presented with his co-teacher on “Standards Based Grading in the Orchestra Classroom” at the ASTA National Conference in Albuquerque. He is currently collaborating with other music educators on a publication regarding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in practice in the orchestra classroom.Since he began teaching, Andrew has enjoyed performing on the viola with the Clinton Symphony Orchestra (Iowa), the Rock Valley College Community/Chamber Orchestra, Elmhurst College Philharmonic, and the Fox Valley Orchestra in Aurora. Currently, he performs with the Titan String Quartet, a group he co-founded made up of Illinois Wesleyan alumni. Outside of music, Andrew enjoys traveling, cooking, and karate. He resides in Wheaton with his wife, Karen; and his two daughters, Laura and Emily.
